The laptop is about to hibernate so this is just a quick little up date.
I just watched 'The September Issue'. It was very good. I'm not sceptical on the topic of fashion, so I didn't really need persuaded to see the 'serious side' of fashion. Grace Coddington is a fantastic human being - full of romanticism and creativity. Anna Wintour is...admirable.
Must dash. Skins!

In reply to your side message...
I've watched Les Miserables (the 1998 adaption with Liam Neeson), but not recently enough that I could talk about it. I've always meant to read the novel. How is it?
Have you started Grapes of Wrath? I love Steinbeck's writing, but have not yet read Grapes. Have you read anything else by Steinbeck?
Hi Selah!
I'm kind of torn about Les Miserables. There are some parts that are excellent: thought-provoking and beautiful. Other parts are irrelevant, drawn out and unnecessary. Overall it's interesting, but just the number of PAGES is terrifying.
I started The Grapes of Wrath a couple of days ago, and I really like it! I had previously read Of Mice and Men so the context of the depression, migrant workers etc. was understandable to me. Sometimes I think that there's too great a gap between his actual writing and his dialogue, so that descriptory paragraphs and things like that seem a bit ostentatious. However, I do actually like the way he handles dialogue with a swarm of apostrophes. It's understandable, but in keeping with that migrant American atmosphere.
I went to the library yesterday and compulsively got two more books, so I need to read very quickly now!
Have you ever read anything by Iris Murdoch?
